Do I need to book a canoe?
Yes, you should book a canoe before your visit. You can do this through our website’s online booking system, where you can also complete the payment using a credit card. Please note that Internet Explorer cannot be used for booking. You will not receive a confirmation if the booking/payment has not been processed successfully.
How many people can fit in a canoe?
[answer]For a day trip, a canoe can accommodate up to three adults or two adults and two small children (approximately 8 years old or younger). Keep in mind that only two people have space to actively paddle, while the others sit as passengers. You can switch positions during the trip. Remember to book an extra seat if more than two people will be in the canoe.
Do you have life jackets in all sizes?
We have life jackets for all ages, from 0 years and up (0–50 kg). These are equipped with a flotation collar, reflectors, and a whistle, providing extra buoyancy. We also have life vests for adults from 40 kg and up, including XL vests for those over 90 kg.
How much luggage can we bring?
Our canoes come in various sizes, with a maximum weight capacity of 365 kg. However, the maximum weight is just one of several factors to consider. Always pack smart and bring only what is necessary for the paddling trip.
How far can we travel in a day?
Daily stages can be up to 15 km/day, with an average speed of up to 3 km/h during 30–60 minute paddling sessions.
I have booked a canoe from 9 AM to 4 PM; when should I arrive?
The reception opens at 9:00 AM, and you may arrive at any time during the day. The canoe is reserved for you between these times, regardless of your arrival time.
What do your rest/camping sites look like?
Our rest/camping sites are equipped with a trash bin, dry toilet, and uncut firewood that is not stored under shelter.
Where are your rest/camping sites located, and is there a map?
Each square on the map represents 1 kilometer. Most sites have barriers, making it difficult to access by car. See the canoe map here.
When do I need transportation?
Transportation is only needed if you paddle north on the Tidan River and pass the third portage at Bengtsvad. In that case, you should book a canoe package that includes a canoe cart. We pick up at the latest by 3:00 PM to ensure you are back at Kyrkekvarn before the reception closes.

We are beginners and want easy paddling; what do you recommend?
We usually recommend paddling south on a long, narrow lake called Stråken. The start always takes place from the canoe center, and we have canoes on either side of the power plant, depending on which direction you intend to paddle.
We don’t want to book a full day, just a few hours; is that possible?
We offer a 3-hour rate of 350 SEK, but it cannot be pre-booked and is subject to availability.
